What is Non-Fusion Scoliosis Surgery ?
Non-fusion scoliosis surgery is a type of spine surgery used to correct abnormal sideways curvature of the spine without permanently joining the spinal bones together. Unlike traditional spinal fusion surgery, this approach aims to preserve as much natural movement and flexibility of the spine as possible. During the procedure, specialised implants or other techniques may be used to gradually correct the spinal curve and control its progression. It may be considered for selected patients with scoliosis, particularly children and teenagers who are still growing. The main goal is to improve spinal alignment while allowing the spine to continue moving naturally.
